Important Dates for Abstract Submissions

Notification of acceptance for oral/ E-poster presentations:

30th Sept, 2024

Pre-registration is mandatory for the conference. Presenting authors should register for the conference on or before 15th Sept, 2024; else the abstract shall not be included in the conference proceedings.

The abstracts should be uploaded online. Please log on the NZUSI website www.nzusi.org  or nzusicon2024.com for abstract submission. Abstracts will not be accepted on emails or through any other mode.

Categories of Abstract submission

One abstract can be submitted under only one presentation category and one scientific category. The organizing/scientific committee reserves the right to alter the presentation category as deemed necessary based on peer review of the content.

Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts

Word count

Submit informative abstracts up to 300 words, excluding the title of the abstract, author affiliations and other headings (like Aims, Methods, Results & Conclusions). The abstract may include a maximum of one image (could be a table or a graph), equivalent of 50 words deducted from the body of rest of the abstract. The videos can be sent to the scientific committee online through www.youtube.com / www.dropbox.com / www.drive.google.com. The link for the same should be included during the abstract submission in the relevant column, and also sent by email to nzusioffice@gmail.com.

Abstract Title

Please write the title in Sentence Case. Do not use quotation marks. Kindly note, the text will be used, as is wherever your abstract title is being used/ printed/ mentioned.

Authors and Affiliations

Corresponding/ Submitting Author: The person submitting the abstract (whose email ID is used to create the profile) will be the single person to whom all correspondence/ communication will be sent.

Presenting Author: Details should be entered in the provided fields (even if the corresponding author is the presenting author of the abstract).

Co-authors: The system will give an option to fill details of up to 6 co-authors. In case you have more, please write to the conference secretariat for assistance.

Affiliations: To be mentioned for each author, wherever mentioned on the online portal.

Abstract Text

Abstracts should be structured under subheadings:

  • Aims
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Incomplete abstracts will be subject to rejection. All abstracts are subject to review by the Scientific Committee and acceptance into the program is not guaranteed.

Conflict of Interest Statement 

If the research described in the abstract was supported by a commercial company, you must indicate the company’s role in the study, analysing the data or preparing the abstract. One of the following must appear at the bottom of the abstract:

  • No conflict of interest to disclose.
  • This research was supported by __________. The company had no role in analysing the data or preparing the abstract.
  • This research was supported by __________. The company inserts free text describing company role in data analysis or abstract preparation.

This conflict-of-interest statement is mandatory for all abstracts submitted and will appear wherever & if the abstracts are published.

Important Note:

  • Previously published abstracts shall be summarily rejected.
  • Submission of the abstract carries with it an obligation to present the accepted abstract in person without any change in scientific content during the allotted time in the above conference.
  • Withdrawal of presentation should be intimated to the scientific committee on or before 30 Oct, 2024.
  • If the presenting author (mentioned while submitting the abstract) is not able to present the paper at the conference due to any reason, prior permission must be obtained from the Scientific Committee regarding the change in the presenting author.
  • More than one abstract can be submitted by any individual author, except for prize competition category. One best poster/podium/video from each non-competition categories shall be awarded with a certificate.
  • NZUSI reserves the right to use uploaded content on its website platform, only on as is basis, for promotional/educational purposes after it has been presented at the conference. For any issues related to such use, please write to secynzusi@gmail beforehand.

e-Poster making guidelines

General specifications:

  • The E-poster will be displayed on a standard 42” LCD TV (Landscape orientation) or Poster Size
  • File format should be Power point (.PPT/.PPTX) in 16:9 ratio slide
  • Maximum number of slides per E-poster: 01 (One)
  • Total size of the PPT slide should not exceed 5 MB
  • Animation/movies/sounds will not be supported; please submit in a static PPT format only


Design specifications:

The E-poster needs to be created as per suggestion under

  • The poster title should be displayed prominently at the top of the poster, followed by the author names with affiliations.
  • The text should include Aim/ Objective, Methods, Results and Conclusion.
  • The poster should be self-explanatory, text should be brief and well organized.
  • The typeface/ font chosen should be a simple and clear one (e.g., Helvetica/ Calibri/ Tahoma) – 28 points is a well-accepted font size.
  • The correct font size depends greatly on the fonts used in the file and the thumb rule should be that if its visible well on the computer screen it shall be visible on the E-Poster Display Screen.
  • Colour suggestions:
    • When using light backgrounds (white, yellow, light blue) we suggest using dark fonts (black & navy blue).
    • When using dark backgrounds (blue & purple) we suggest using light fonts (white or cyan).
    • Avoid using red or green colour fonts or the background as they are colours that are difficult to be read.
  • Illustrations/ images/ photographs used in the E-poster should be enlarged enough to show relevant details.

Video making guidelines

General specifications:

  • Video must be an original production
  • Video must describe title, authors and affiliations at the beginning and credits at the end
  • Any speech or voice-over in your video should be in clear English.
  • Do not use background music preferably.
  • Only standard codecs are allowed. A video that does not play on a standard platform can be summarily rejected. Preferably use  MP4/H.264 format and a minimum of 1920×1080 resolution. Do not upscale to HD with SD source.
  • Name your video file with your name and video title. For example “Rishi_Renorrhaphy in partial nephrectomy”
